Remarkable Picture when the TV was working

I purchased this "top of the line" unit for my game room in a new home we built and completed in November 2013. I wanted the most advanced 70" 4K Ultra HD on the market. The company that did the installation of the custom audio/video systems in my home recommended the Sharp LC-70UD1U.
I was impressed with the features as well as the Aquos Advantage service after the sale program that Sharp advertised.
The picture was truley amazing until seven months later the TV simply stopped working. Now, two weeks later and after numerous convesations with the Sharp service folks my TV has been deemed nonrepairable. Sharp has offered to send a refurbished unit to replace my defective TV.
I refused to accept their offer and pointed out to them that the Sharp Limited Warranty was not worded that way and of course they disagreed. The warranty states "repair or replace the defective Product or part thereof with a new or remanufacured equivalent". Refurbished is not mentioned and is quite a different process than remanufactured.
After spending thousands of dollars, I dont feel this offer is a fair and just settlement and will refrain from giving this product and sevice a poor rating until the final verdict is in from Sharp.

Great TV - No thought on wall mounting.

Yes I would sell this TV again. But when we looked up specs before we ordered it and it said VESA compliant for mounting with a standard bolt pattern we ordered it. But it came with a sub-woofer protruding over 2" in the center of the bolt pattern. I called Sharp and asked about an adapter bracket, but they said just use a standard accessory kit with the standard bolt spacer tubes. Really? If I bolt this to a wall bracket with only 4 bolts on over 2" plastic spacers somethings gonna give! I mean, this TV weighs over 120 lbs! It would probably rip out the bolt threads from the back of the TV. I am having a custom adapter bracket made to properly support the bracket on the back of this TV. Sub-woofer needs to be made removable. You don't need the speakers with theater systems. Can't believe Sharp missed this.

Pros: picture quality
Cons: stupid sub-woofer & sound bar
The Tv looks great, I will sell it again. The only thing that is STUPID, STUPID, STUPID sub-woofer that sticks out just over 2" from the back of the display not allowing it to be flat on the wall(which can NOT be removed). The bottom speakers are NOT removable either. These are the only two things that I don't like about the Tv. If your going to own this Tv you will also own a sound system there is NO reason for the speakers/sub-woofer.
